Job summary

Emporia Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Emporia, VA is seeking an Activities Director to lead the facility's Activities Department and develop programs that meet residents' physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs.

You will supervise staff, implement departmental policies, manage budgets, attend care plan meetings, document resident participation, and assist with recruitment of Activity team members.

Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma/Equivalent
• ADC certification by National Certification Council for Activity Professionals (NCCAP) or eligible
• Experience as an Activity Director in a Long Term Care setting

Responsibilities

• Oversee the facility's Activity Department including supervision of staff, development and implementation of departmental policy and procedures, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, local regulations.
• Develop new programs to meet evolving trends and industry standards.
• Operate the Activities department within budgetary guidelines and limitations.
• Observe and report Resident attendance, participation, and behavior changes by documenting and charting.
• Participate in care planning meetings, provide information and observations of Residents' needs and report behavioral changes.
• Greet all new Residents and those arriving at the facility.
• Perform administrative tasks such as charting, care planning, reports, and ensure timely completion of assigned MDS portions.
• Assist with recruitment and selection of Activity staff.

Education
