Job summary

Arbor Ridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking an Activities Assistant for a part-time role in Wayne, NJ. The position runs 9 AM – 5 PM on Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday, offering a supportive, resident-centered work environment within a 120-bed Sub-Acute and Long-Term Care facility.

You will create engaging activities, document participation, and collaborate with a care team to enhance residents' quality of life and well-being.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with seniors preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, engaging environment for residents.
• Document resident participation and engagement in activities.
• Promote residents' well-being through meaningful activities.
• Plan, develop, and implement recreational and community programs.
• Build relationships and encourage participation based on resident interests.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support care goals.
• Observe changes in mood or participation and communicate to the team.
• Assist with community outreach and event marketing.
• Complete audits, reports, and activity records.
• Decorate, set up, and break down activities and events.
• Escort and transport residents to activities.
