Job summary

WOODLAND MANOR NURSING & REHABILITATION is seeking an Activities Director to develop, coordinate and implement activity programs for residents in a long-term care setting. Under administrator supervision, you will ensure residents' spiritual, emotional, recreational and social needs are met on an individual basis.

You will manage calendars, supervise staff and volunteers, transport residents as needed, and maintain equipment while ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Must possess or be eligible to obtain the qualifications outlined in state and federal regulations.
• Ability to interact positively with residents, families and staff, and work collaboratively at all levels.
• Must be able to maintain consistent attendance and be willing to work long or irregular hours.

Responsibilities

• Develops, coordinates, and implements activity programs for residents.
• Schedules a calendar of activities and supervises activity staff and volunteers.
• Physically transports residents and encourages participation in activities.
• Maintains and safekeeping of recreational equipment; manages usage system.
• Records participation in clinical charts and updates activity plans for surveys.
• Identifies resident social, recreational, and emotional needs and reports changes.
• Ensures safety rules/regulations are observed; reports hazards or incidents.
• Participates in in-service training; performs other duties as assigned.
