Job summary

Ohio Living in Akron is seeking an Activities Assistant to plan and lead engaging programs that support residents' physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. You will encourage participation in hobbies, assist with crafts, and visit residents to provide reading materials and companionship.

Responsibilities include coordinating events, developing activity schedules, documenting progress in resident charts, and ensuring safety and compliance with care plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year activities experience preferred.
• Two years experience in a long-term care, hospital, or other related healthcare setting preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Work weekends, evenings, and holidays - Required as scheduled.
• Sitting up to 8 hours/day; Standing up to 8 hours/day; Walking up to 8 hours/day; Lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Performs day to day activity functions to provide programming that meets the residents' interests and the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident.
• Coordinates scheduled parties, movies, games/activities appropriate for residents in various levels of care.
• Develops and oversees written plans of care for each resident and assures progress notes are descriptive of the service and resident response.
• Maintains charts, notes, and documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with rules, regulations, and standards.
