Job summary

The Center for Living & Rehabilitation in Bennington, VT is seeking a compassionate Activities Director to plan, implement, and evaluate recreational and therapeutic activities for residents. You will collaborate with rehabilitation staff, recruit volunteers, maintain records, and build community partnerships to expand activity offerings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; degree in recreation therapy, gerontology, or related field preferred.
• Experience in a long-term care setting; activities direction experience a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with residents, families, and staff.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and execute diverse recreational activities, including arts and crafts, games, outings, and entertainment programs
• Develop and maintain relationships with community resources to provide a wide range of activities and services for residents
• Collaborate with rehabilitation staff to develop and implement therapeutic activities that support resident goals and outcomes
• Recruit and train volunteers to assist with activities programming
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities programs, making adjustments as needed
• Maintain accurate records of activity participation and outcomes
