Job summary

The Center for Living & Rehabilitation in Bennington, VT is seeking a compassionate Activities Director to lead recreational and therapeutic programs for residents. You will craft engaging experiences that enhance quality of life and coordinate with the care team to align activities with individual goals.

You will plan, implement, and evaluate activities, recruit volunteers, and collaborate with staff to support meaningful engagement in a supportive long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in recreation therapy, gerontology, or related field preferred.
• Experience in a long-term care setting; experience in activities direction or related field a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with residents, families, and staff.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and circumstances in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and execute diverse recreational activities.
• Develop and maintain relationships with community resources to provide activities and services for residents.
• Collaborate with rehabilitation staff to develop and implement therapeutic activities that support resident goals.
• Recruit and train volunteers to assist with activities programming.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities programs, making adjustments as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of activity participation and outcomes.
