Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• At least four (4) years of civil engineering experience.
• At least one (1) year of supervisory or project management experience on construction projects or ability to complete the MWRA Supervisory development program within 6 months; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A valid Class D Motor Vehicle Operators License.
• Successful completion of MWRA training program on Construction Management (when available).

Responsibilities

• Acts as resident engineer on construction projects and monitors contractor compliance with documents, MWRA procedures, regulatory requirements and engineering standards.
• Maintains field project files for each contract and ensures documentation aligns with MWRA policies.
• Keeps daily diaries recording project activities, weather, visitors, change orders and claims per MWRA procedures.
• Maintains quantity control ledgers and reviews contractor pay estimates and final payments; prepares redlined record drawings.
• Coordinates contractor activities, assists in change orders, and reviews schedules with monthly progress reports.
• Provides technical assistance to field staff to ensure compliance with construction documents and MWRA practices.
