Resident Engineer, Transportation Projects, Chicago, IL

We are seeking a Transportation Resident Engineer to join Ardmore Roderick, a full-service infrastructure solutions firm specializing in Utilities, Transportation, Aviation, Rail, Transit, Building, and Facilities Projects. The position is based in the Chicagoland area with potential for hybrid work depending on project needs.

Responsibilities
  1. Oversee daily roadway rehabilitation construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, timeline, and budget.
  2. Serve as the primary contact for the project, coordinating with owners, contractors, and stakeholders to facilitate progress and resolve issues.
  3. Address and resolve construction-related issues as they arise.
  4. Manage a team of field inspectors, assigning tasks and overseeing documentation processes.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degrees.
  • Construction Management (CM) certification.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience with Chicago Department of Transportation projects.
