Job summary

Fisher Associates seeks a Resident Engineer/ Transportation Construction Inspector to oversee a Bridge Rehabilitation Project in the Village of Brockport, Monroe County NY. The role focuses on ensuring construction aligns with plans, codes, and safety standards while coordinating with contractors and engineers.

Project duration is approximately four months, with work occurring on two pedestrian bridges. Certification requirements emphasize NICET/OSHA credentials and prior roadway/transportation

Qualifications

• NICET Level III or IV certification or NYSDOT equivalent experience.
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification.
• Experience with roadway, utility, or transportation construction projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site inspections to confirm construction activities match approved plans and codes
• Identify and report any deviations from approved plans and specifications
• Ensure work complies with local, state, and federal requirements
• Keep clear inspection records, including photos and notes
• Prepare inspection reports and document needed corrections
• Work with project teams including contractors, project managers, and engineers to discuss inspection results and address any issues
• Attend meetings and provide inspection updates
• Provide recommendations to bring non-compliant work up to standard
• Monitor material quality and workmanship
• Oversee job sites for safety compliance
• Report and address any safety hazards or violations promptly
• Other duties as assigned

Fisher Associates is seeking a Resident Engineer/ Transportation Construction Inspector to oversee a Bridge Rehabilitation Project in the Village of Brockport, Monroe County NY. Work includes Rehabilitation of two Pedestrian Bridges. Construction is anticipated in 2027.

Location: Village of Brockport

Duration: approximately 4 months

Level: III/IV

Salary Range: $35-55 / hr

What you will do:

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
• Must be able to access and navigate construction sites
• Ability to transverse uneven grounds.
• Environmental Conditions: Office environment, field environment, construction site environment and inclement weather conditions.

Salary Range: $35 - $55/hour
