Fisher Associates is seeking a Resident Engineer/ Transportation Construction Inspector to oversee a Bridge Replacement Project in the Town of Vestal, NY. Construction is anticipated in 2027. Location: Town of Vestal. Duration: approximately 6 months.

Level: III/IV. Salary Range: $35-55/hr. Responsibilities include on-site inspections, reporting deviations, ensuring code compliance, and coordinating with contractors and engineers.

Qualifications

• NICET Level III/IV certification or NYSDOT equivalent experience.
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification is required.
• Prior experience with roadway, utility, or transportation construction projects preferred.

Responsabilités

• Perform on-site inspections to confirm construction activities match approved plans and codes.
• Identify and report deviations from approved plans and specifications.
• Ensure work complies with local, state, and federal requirements.
• Keep inspection records with photos and notes.
• Prepare inspection reports and document needed corrections.
• Discuss inspection results with contractors, PMs, and engineers.
• Attend meetings and provide inspection updates.
• Provide recommendations to bring non-compliant work up to standard.
• Monitor material quality and workmanship.
• Oversee job sites for safety compliance and address hazards promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you will do

• Work with project teams including contractors, project managers, and engineers to discuss inspection results and address any issues
• Attend meetings and provide inspection updates
• Provide recommendations to bring non-compliant work up to standard
• Monitor material quality and workmanship
• Oversee job sites for safety compliance
• Report and address any safety hazards or violations promptly
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• NICET Level III or IV certification (or NYSDOT equivalent experience)
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification (required)
• Prior experience with roadway, utility, or transportation construction projects preferred

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
• Must be able to access and navigate construction sites
• Ability to transverse uneven grounds.
• Environmental Conditions: Office environment, field environment, construction site environment and inclement weather conditions.

Salary Range: $35 - $55/hour
