What You Will Do

GFT is seeking a Resident Engineer to join our Construction Services team in the Dublin, San Francisco, Stockton, San Jose, Roseville or Concord area.

We oversee every construction phase to help ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and with the highest safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

With little or no supervision, act as Owner Agent to provide construction management and inspection services for a range of projects, including transportation and transit facilities. Perform assignments that may not be clearly defined, requiring development of construction documents, procedures and criteria. Oversee multiple projects simultaneously.

• Conduct and document project meetings with clients.
• Manage construction field personnel, including teaming partners.
• Negotiate and approve construction change orders.
• Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Prepare proposals and presentations.
• Prepare and monitor project schedules and budgets.
• Prepare and issue reports and correspondence.
• Approve quantities for measurement and payment purposes.
• Approve construction payment applications.
• Resolve technical issues.
• Perform constructability reviews and value engineering studies.
• Lead Risk Management assessments.
• Prepare and monitor Quality Control and Assurance Plans.
• Develop Standard Operating Procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Engineering or Construction Management.
• CCM certification.
• Experience with Primavera P6.
• 10‑hour OSHA Safety course.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Driver’s license required.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $200,000–$250,000, dependent on experience and geographic location.
