Job summary

Oxford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is hiring an Activities Assistant to create engaging programs for residents and enhance daily experiences. You will document participation, support wellbeing through activities, and collaborate with the care team to meet individual goals.

Responsibilities include planning diverse recreational and community activities, assisting with events, and handling related administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience in an Activities Department, healthcare setting, skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, assisted living community, or related environment preferred.
• Experience working with seniors is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, engaging environment that enhances residents' quality of life.
• Document resident participation and engagement in activities and programs.
• Promote well-being of residents through meaningful activities and interactions.
• Plan, develop, organize, and implement recreational, social, educational, and community programs.
• Build positive relationships with residents and encourage participation based on interests and abilities.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support resident care goals.
• Observe and communicate changes in residents' moods, behaviors, or participation to team members.
• Assist with community outreach and marketing events showcasing resident-centered care.
• Complete administrative tasks including audits, reports, documentation, and records.
• Prepare, decorate, set up, and break down activities and events.
