SUMMARY:

Enhances physical, cognitive, social, emotional and spiritual wellness by providing quality programming and creating positive resident relationships to improve the quality of life of residents at Loomis Communities. Focuses on person-centered programming to support resident wellness.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Performs job functions consistent with the mission and goals of Loomis Communities, adhering to the Compliance and Ethics Program, confidentiality, residents' rights, safety regulations, infection control, and CARF/CCAC standards.
  2. Demonstrates awareness and respect for diversity among persons served, staff, families, and stakeholders, reflected in attitudes, behavior, and services.
  3. Assists Resident Engagement Coordinators in developing, planning, and implementing quality programs tailored to residents' needs across the continuum of care (NC, IL, AL).
  4. Follows scheduled calendar, prepares for and leads daily programs, and documents attendance to promote resident wellness. Collaborates with staff, volunteers, and service providers to ensure quality programming.
  5. Invites and safely transports residents to activities, including driving transport vehicles for off-campus programming if required.
  6. Maintains cleanliness and organization of program areas and storage, and decorates for holidays and seasonal themes as needed.
  7. Respects residents' individuality by providing materials for independent or alternative leisure activities and adapting activities to accommodate all residents regardless of abilities or preferences.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Experience:
  • One year of related experience or training
Licenses (Required/Preferred):
  • Valid Driver's License
Skills/Competencies:
  • Ability to follow instructions in written, oral, or diagram form and handle problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking English for documentation and communication; effective public speaking skills.
  • Basic math skills for measurement conversions.
  • Ability to relate well to residents, including those who are emotionally upset.
  • Tactful communication with staff, residents, families, visitors, and the public; knowledge of audiovisual equipment operation.
  • Punctuality and regular attendance.
  • Flexibility to work beyond normal hours when necessary.
  • Effective task and time management skills to complete essential functions within shift hours.
