Job summary

Serencroft Care Homes is seeking an Activities Co-ordinator at Hayes Cottage to plan and deliver engaging activities for residents in a supportive care setting. You’ll work with residents and families to create person-centred, enjoyable programmes while ensuring safety and compliance across the home.

The role requires creativity, reliability and strong communication with a caring, patient approach. DBS check is required and a driving licence is advantageous for outings.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in activities, leisure, events or similar coordinating role is desirable but not essential.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
• Good communication skills and a flexible, can-do attitude.
• Experience within a care home, healthcare or similarly regulated environment is desirable.
• A full driving licence is an advantage but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and deliver a varied programme of activities tailored to residents' interests and needs.
• Get to know residents to understand their life histories and preferences.
• Promote dignity, independence and choice in activities.
• Organise outings, events and seasonal celebrations for residents.
• Maintain records of activities delivered and participation.
• Collaborate with families, volunteers and external visitors to enrich activities.
• Ensure equipment and materials are stored and used safely.
• Promote the activities programme to residents, families and visitors.
