Job summary

Fluidstack is building modular data centers and seeks an electrical systems engineer to own power distribution, grounding, and controls on the Phoenix line. You will work on the factory floor, catching wiring issues, dispositioning them on the spot, and answering RFIs quickly to keep production moving.

Ideal candidates have hands-on electrical design experience for complex products, production-line familiarity, and the ability to iterate drawings with field feedback.

Qualifications

  • You've engineered electrical systems hands-on for complex physical products or facilities.
  • Experience working on a shop floor or production line with on-the-spot issue disposition.
  • Experience supporting production launches and sustaining lines in production.
  • Drawings are clean and can be used directly by fabricators and electricians.

Responsibilities

  • Own the electrical systems of the modular product on the line: power distribution, grounding, and controls integration.
  • Walk the Phoenix manufacturing floor daily, identifying wiring issues and dispositioning them on the spot.
  • Answer electrical RFIs same-day from the floor and engineer fixes into the next revision.
  • Run first-article reviews and electrical checkout as units come down the line with rigorous documentation.
  • Close the loop to design: feed field learnings back into drawings and BOM so the single source of truth remains drawings.

Job description

About Fluidstack

We exist to make humanity more free. For most of human history, you farmed or you starved. Technology gave people more time for the things they wanted to do, instead of things they had to do. Powerful AI will be the biggest lever for human choice we've ever built - but only if models are aligned with what humanity actually wants. There are groups building AI who don't share these goals. Whoever deploys frontier compute infrastructure fastest will decide whether AI expands human freedom or shrinks it.

We're singularly focused on delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else, rethinking every layer of the stack. We acquire power, design and build data centers, and operate them - with teams spanning hardware and software. Speed and scale are our key differentiators. Come be a part of building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI.

We hire people who care deeply about this problem space.

How We Operate

  • Extreme ownership. Full autonomy. Own things end to end often taking on scope outside your core role without being asked to get things done.

  • Velocity. We drive everything forward as fast as possible.

  • First principles. Challenge every assumption. Zero analogy thinking, no egos, the best idea wins.

  • Love of the game. The frontier of AI is the most interesting problem of our time. We put in long hours at high intensity to push the frontier forward.

The Modular Team

The Modular team is building factory-produced modular data centers, taking them from released drawings to rate production on our Phoenix manufacturing line.

Examples of key problems the team is working on:

  • Bring first-of-a-kind modular data center designs from engineering release to repeatable rate production on the factory line

  • Engineer power distribution, grounding, and controls integration that builds clean at the station and holds up in the field

  • Run first-article inspections and electrical checkout so the first unit off the line and the hundredth meet the same bar

  • Close the loop between the floor and the drawing set, so every issue caught at a station is engineered out of the next revision

Role Scope

  • Own the electrical systems of the modular product on the line: power distribution, grounding, and controls integration, from released drawings through rate production

  • Live on the Phoenix manufacturing floor: walk the line daily, catch wiring and termination issues at the station where they happen, and disposition them on the spot

  • Answer electrical RFIs same-day from the floor, then engineer the fix into the next revision so the same question never comes up twice

  • Run first-article reviews and electrical checkout in person as units come down the line, with findings documented rigorously enough to drive design and process change

  • Close the loop to design: feed what the line learns back into one-lines, panel schedules, and the BOM, keeping the drawing set the single source of truth

What We're Looking For

The below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don't fit this role exactly, tell us where you would.

  • You've engineered electrical systems hands-on for complex physical products, modular construction, or critical facilities

  • You've worked on a shop floor or production line, and dispositioning a nonconformance in the moment is familiar work, not an escalation

  • You've supported production launches of your own designs and stayed with them until the line ran clean

  • Your drawings build clean: fabricators and electricians rarely call, and when they do, you fix the drawing, not just the unit

  • You iterate fast without losing configuration control: every floor fix lands in the released drawing set, not in tribal knowledge

  • You're equally credible in a design review and at the station with a multimeter, and the techs on the line trust your dispositions

  • Bonus: PE license, working knowledge of NEC and UL 508A panel standards, data center power distribution experience, panel checkout and QC background, or strong DFM instincts

We are committed to pay equity and transparency.
