Job description

About Fluidstack

We exist to make humanity more free. For most of human history, you farmed or you starved. Technology gave people more time for the things they wanted to do, instead of things they had to do. Powerful AI will be the biggest lever for human choice we've ever built - but only if models are aligned with what humanity actually wants. There are groups building AI who don't share these goals. Whoever deploys frontier compute infrastructure fastest will decide whether AI expands human freedom or shrinks it.

We're singularly focused on delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else, rethinking every layer of the stack. We acquire power, design and build data centers, and operate them - with teams spanning hardware and software. Speed and scale are our key differentiators. Come be a part of building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI.

How We Operate
  • Extreme ownership. Full autonomy. Own things end to end often taking on scope outside your core role without being asked to get things done.

  • Velocity. We drive everything forward as fast as possible.

  • First principles. Challenge every assumption. Zero analogy thinking, no egos, the best idea wins.

  • Love of the game. The frontier of AI is the most interesting problem of our time. We put in long hours at high intensity to push the frontier forward.

The Modular Team

The Modular team builds first-of-a-kind modular data centers on a production line, turning what is normally a construction project into a manufactured product.

Examples of key problems the team is working on:

  • Engineer modular data center units that can be built, tested, and shipped from a factory line instead of assembled on site

  • Prove out controls, sensors, and I/O on every unit before it leaves the floor, so commissioning in the field starts from a known-good baseline

  • Close the loop between the manufacturing line and the design team, so wiring, logic, and BOM issues found at a station get engineered out of the next revision

  • Compress the time from first article to repeatable production without losing configuration control

Role Scope
  • Engineer and check out the controls of the modular product on the line, PLCs, BMS integration, sensors, and I/O, owning every point from panel to termination

  • Live on the Phoenix manufacturing line: walk the floor daily, catch wiring and I/O issues at the station where they happen, and disposition them on the spot

  • Run point-to-point checkout, loop checks, and first-article functional tests in person as units come down the line, with results documented well enough to stand behind at handoff

  • Own real-time controls support for the factory: answer controls RFIs same-day from the floor and engineer fixes into the next revision, not a punch list

  • Close the loop to design: feed what the line learns back into wiring diagrams, logic, and the BOM so the same defect never ships twice

What We're Looking For

The below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don't fit this role exactly, tell us where you would.

  • You've engineered or commissioned controls systems hands-on: PLC, BMS, or industrial automation, from integrators, BMS contractors, or data center commissioning firms

  • You've done point-to-point checkout and loop checks on real panels at volume, not just reviewed them on paper

  • You've worked on a shop floor or production line, and dispositioning a nonconformance in the moment is familiar work, not an escalation

  • You've supported production launches or startups of systems you helped build, and stayed until they ran

  • You iterate fast without losing configuration control: when the drawing, the wiring, and the logic disagree, you can isolate which one is wrong and keep the line moving while it gets fixed

  • You write the logic, then stand at the cabinet proving every point

  • Bonus: PLC programming (Rockwell, Siemens), data center BMS platforms, panel and wiring diagram standards, or instrumentation depth

We are committed to pay equity and transparency.
