Job summary

The Dining Services Assistant at Trinity Community at Fairborn (United Church Homes, Inc.) supports the preparation, service and cleanup of meals for residents and staff. You will assist the cook, carry food, set tables, serve trays, and maintain a clean, homelike dining environment.

You’ll follow safety, sanitation and dementia care protocols while communicating with residents and families. Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED (preferred) and 6 months to 1 year of related

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Six months to one year related experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, understand and speak English.
• Ability to multi-task and work with flexibility.
• Ability to operate mixers, stoves, microwaves, and other kitchen equipment.
• Dementia care training may be provided as part of role.

Responsibilities

• Assists Cook as needed with food preparation and service.
• Carries pans, kettles and trays to and from work stations.
• Prepares nourishments according to procedures.
• Maintains sanitation and cleans dining areas and equipment.
• Assists with meal service, trays, and tables as assigned.
• Checks meal trays for accuracy and communicates with residents.
• Cleans up after meals and resets for next service.
