Job summary

Bear Mountain Healthcare seeks a Dietary Aide to support the Dietary Department in a long-term care setting. You will perform routine tasks under the Dietary Manager, assist the cook with meal preparation and service, and ensure meals meet scheduled times with proper sanitation.

Responsibilities include setting up dining areas, serving residents, washing dishes, labeling stock, and recording meals while maintaining safe food temperatures. Flexibility and teamwork are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Ability to read, understand and follow recipe directions, diet orders and work assignments.
• Numerical ability for recipe measurements and cleaning chemical handling.
• Good motor coordination and manual dexterity for food prep and dish handling.
• Willingness to perform routine tasks with interruptions and to work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform defined work routines using dietary utensils and equipment.
• Assist in preparation and service of meals with the cook.
• Meet scheduled meal and snack times and maintain sanitation.
• Follow sanitation standards and hospital dietary procedures.
• Set up dining areas, serve residents, and wash/store dishes.
• Record meals served and monitor temperatures as required.
