Job summary

Lebanonrehabilitation is seeking a kitchen assistant to prepare and portion meals for residents according to planned menus, while maintaining strict food safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities include serving meals to residents in accordance with diet orders, utilizing standardized recipes, and keeping the kitchen organized and clean. Prior experience in long-term care and food service is preferred, with a Food Handlers Permit often required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Food Handlers Permit required per state regulations.
• Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.
• Experience in food service is desired.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and portions food for regular and therapeutic diets according to planned menu and counts for residents, staff, and events.
• Uses proper food handling and safety techniques according to policies and regulations.
• Ensures meals are served attractively and timely to designated areas.
• Records food temperatures and maintains proper cooling/heating; follows temperature logs.
• Assists in receiving, storing, and verifying invoices for food and supplies as directed.
• Keeps kitchen area clean and uncluttered; follows infection control practices.
• Operates kitchen equipment safely and reports any malfunctions.
• Works cooperatively as a team member within the Nursing Center and interacts professionally with residents and visitors.
