Job summary

Atria Senior Living, Inc. is seeking a Cook to prepare meals in our community and maintain high standards of food safety and presentation. You will work with the culinary team to ensure residents receive flavorful, well-plated meals that meet established recipes and menus.

Responsibilities include opening/closing the kitchen, following cleaning schedules, and collaborating with the Chef de Cuisine to keep residents satisfied with dining programs. Strong reading of recipes and logs is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years of cook experience in hospitality or healthcare.
• Food handlers permit as required by state law.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and production guides.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of culinary customer service at all times.
• Work closely with Chef de Cuisine to keep residents satisfied with food and dining programs.
• Maintain kitchen and food storage and preparation areas clean, safe, and sanitary.
• Responsible for opening and/or closing of the kitchen.
• Adhere to cleaning schedules and ensure food handling per standards.
• Estimate daily or weekly needs and communicate with Chef de Cuisine.
• Prepare meals according to established recipes and menus.
• Document temperatures of food prior to service and during storage.
• Prepare snacks and beverages for residents at all times.
• Assist with transportation and storage of food and supplies.
• Adhere to Quality Enhancement standards and food safety practices.
• Assist with special events, banquets, and theme meals.
• Attend pre-meal stand up in kitchen prior to meal service.
• May perform other duties as needed.
