Job summary

Mountain Youth Academy, a UHS company, is seeking a PRN Cook to join our Dietary Team in Mountain City, TN. The role supports residents and staff with meal preparation and service, and includes training in Handle with Care (HWC) and CPR to assist in supervision as needed.

The position is described as full-time with responsibilities across meal planning, food safety, and collaborative menu development within a 120-bed residential treatment facility near Johnson City.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid TN Driver's License.
• Previous Cook experience preferred.
• Minimum of one year in a full service cafeteria operation.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and dietary guidelines.
• Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to dietary guidelines.
• Ensure food safety standards are met during handling and preparation.
• Maintain kitchen and dining area cleanliness and sanitation.
• Collaborate with dietary staff to plan menus meeting residents' nutritional needs.
• Support dietary department in inventory management and food ordering.
• Provide excellent service during mealtimes to residents.
