Your role on our team:

CLAAS Resident Technicians support customers with complex on-site diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance tasks (field and customer shop). This role provides expert level customer service to ensure the highest degree of customer experience and satisfaction. The position acts autonomously within company guardrails with an entrepreneurial spirit and represents the CLAAS brand as an ambassador. All Resident Technicians will be provided with fully-equipped service trucks.

  • Responsible for performing complex on-site diagnostics, service, repairs, and maintenance work on customer CLAAS equipment; in-shop repairs will need to be completed according to business needs.
  • Reviews and explains any maintenance, repair, or other service concerns directly to the customer and documents on work order.
  • May establish and implement effective stocking processes with the Parts Department to maintain the proper seasonal parts inventory.
  • Supports Machinery Set-Up and Adjustments.
  • Promotes and sells service programs directly to assigned customers.
  • Maintains current mechanical and technical knowledge of CLAAS and competitive products.
  • Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments timely and proficiently, including accounting for time and material used in performing assigned duties.
Your profile:
  • Ag Diesel Technology Degree highly preferred, or degree in Diesel Technology or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a field service technician/engineering role working on agricultural equipment.
  • Prior experience in high visibility customer facing role required incl. troubleshooting methods and tools.
  • Working knowledge of CLAAS equipment and parts is a plus.
  • Independent in completing assigned tasks and solid ad-hoc decision making competencies.
  • Must be able to work efficiently and autonomously.
  • High affinity to always put the customer and their needs first; ability to make sound recommendations on service and maintenance work for CLAAS equipment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret parts and machine schematics.
  • Ability to travel within the region and to be able to work with limited supervision.
