Job description

Bentley Systems is seeking a talented individual to become a valued member of our successful Services team as a Resident Consultant. A Resident Consultant plays an important role in delivering Bentley civil design related coaching, training, support, and configuration services for the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

Location: Home-based, United States

The candidate will work remotely with the Connecticut DOT with periodic on-site travel (minimum 4 times per year) to the DOT office located in Newington, CT.

Responsibilities

  • Training, configuration, installation, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance and support of Bentley Civil Engineering Design applications and CADD software, with a focus on OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
  • Liaison between software users and Bentley support.
  • Provides technical assistance with the implementation, installation, operation, maintenance and configuration of Bentley products.
  • Work effectively with Connecticut DOT to understand requirements, scope, develop, and validate training workflows.
  • Work independently to create learning resources.
  • Assist in the development, coordination, and delivery of a statewide training plan.
  • Configure Bentley applications to DOT standards and workflows.
  • All work to be performed remotely (work from home), with occasional travel to the DOT headquarters in Newington, CT (minimum 4 trips per year).
  • Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any otherphysical requirements).

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent experience in road and drainage design.
  • Experience and comprehensive understanding of infrastructure projects and transportation workflows.
  • Possess 5 years knowledge and experience with OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and MicroStation.
  • Be familiar with and have experience configuring Bentley software workspaces.
  • Strong command of the English language with clear speaking skills for recording videos and teaching live training classes
  • Experience developing training materials and/or recording training videos.
