We are SLR Consulting (US), a team of over 500 professionals providing environmental, advisory, engineering, and regulatory services across the country. Our mission is Making Sustainability Happen, and as our Resident/Chief Inspector, you will play a vital role in achieving this goal.

Role

As a Resident Engineer/Chief Inspector, you will oversee infrastructure projects in Connecticut, ranging from road reconstruction to complex bridge replacements. Your responsibilities include leading inspection teams, ensuring contract compliance, and providing expert oversight on construction projects, particularly for Connecticut Department of Transportation (CT DOT).

Responsibilities

• Provide Chief Inspector/Senior Inspector services for CT DOT Construction Inspection Projects
• Review contract documents
• Coordinate with clients and contractors
• Prepare records, reports, and testing protocols, including daily inspection reports and the CT DOT record-keeping system
• Lead meetings and develop project documentation
• Estimate costs and manage change orders
• Oversee material testing and ensure quality standards
• Manage project correspondence and review subordinate staff work
• Coordinate with utility companies and agencies
• Prepare and present at interviews for future projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; NICET certifications considered
• 5+ years of experience inspecting and managing water, wastewater, or industrial construction projects
• Experience with CT DOT projects or municipal projects is a plus
• Knowledge of inspection processes and documentation standards
• Certifications like ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician and NETTCP preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
