Job summary

Eastern Health Group is seeking a Laundry Aide to maintain clean, sanitary, and safe environments for residents, staff, and visitors. You will perform cleaning tasks in resident rooms, common areas, and staff spaces, following infection-control procedures and safety protocols.

Responsibilities include cleaning, trash removal, floor care, laundry support, and restocking supplies, while upholding privacy and dignity of residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Healthcare or residential housekeeping experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, hallways, and other assigned areas daily.
• Collect and properly dispose of waste, including medical waste and hazardous materials, in accordance with safety protocols.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors in all areas.
• Collect, sort, and deliver linens and personal laundry, ensuring they are properly cleaned and distributed.
• Restock housekeeping supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and towels in resident rooms and bathrooms.
• Identify and report maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate department.
• Follow health, safety, and infection control protocols, including PPE usage.
• Engage with residents respectfully and compassionately while performing duties.
• Properly use and maintain housekeeping tools and equipment.
• Participate in deep-cleaning projects as needed.
