Job summary

White Oak Shelby is seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable Registered Dietitian (RD) to support the nutritional health and well‑being of our residents. This role develops individualized nutrition care plans and ensures regulatory compliance within a quality dietary service framework.

The RD will assess residents, create care plans, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve outcomes. A degree in Nutrition or Dietetics and an active RD license are required, with strong communication

Qualifications

• Associate, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Nutrition or Dietetics from an accredited college or university.
• Registered Dietitian (RD) active license in good standing.
• Membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics preferred.
• Knowledge of long-term care regulations and nutritional standards.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer and documentation skills required.

Responsibilities

• Complete initial, quarterly, annual, and significant change nutritional assessments and documentation.
• Develop and monitor individualized nutrition care plans.
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy, administration, and the corporate dietary consultant to support optimal resident outcomes.
• Participate in care plan meetings, Medicare meetings, wound and weight meetings, infection control meetings, and other interdisciplinary committees.
• Provide nutrition-related education and in-services to dietary and facility staff.
• Assist with menu planning, food service quality assurance, and policy development.
• Conduct quality improvement audits and implement corrective action plans as needed.
• Maintain current knowledge of nutrition research, regulations, and food service best practices.
