Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a Medication Assistant (MA) to provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a charge nurse. The role supports basic health care needs including vital signs, personal care, meals, and documentation.

Must hold MN CNA certification and MN TMA certification. Administer medications as delegated, document outcomes, and communicate changes to the charge nurse. Minnesota-wide responsibilities and state requirements apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Minimum age 18 preferred.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care.
• Annual competency testing and continuing education credits required.
• May require a valid driver's license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Take and record vital signs and monitor patient condition.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and mobility.
• Assist with meals, hydration, and nutrition support.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Document care, medications, behavior, activity, and dietary information.
• Communicate changes in condition to the charge nurse.
• Provide housekeeping and laundry to support residents.
• Encourage participation in wellness and recreational programs.
