Job summary

Good Samaritan in De Smet, SD is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) to provide resident-centered care in a long-term care setting under RN supervision. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, meals, vital signs, transfers, and mobility, while promoting dignity and comfort.

The role requires CNA certification (or in progress), a minimum age of 16, and completion of annual education requirements. A drug screen and background check are required before employment.

Qualifications

• Must have CNA certification current or in process.
• Age 16 or older.
• Experience in long-term care preferred.
• Certification within four months of start date.
• Annual continuing education minimum 12 hours.
• Drug screen and pre-employment background screening required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting).
• Assist with meals and hydration; ensure a positive dining experience.
• Record vital signs and report changes to RN.
• Assist with transfers, positioning, and mobility.
• Support infection prevention and use of PPE per policy.
• Provide psychosocial support and participate in recreational activities.
