Job summary

The Arc North Florida is seeking a Direct Service Professional in Live Oak, FL for full-time work in a residential setting. You will supervise and train residents, assist with daily activities, meals, and transportation, while ensuring confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with persons who have developmental disabilities or in related settings preferred.
• Able to pass a drug screen and Level 2 background check.
• Valid Florida driver's license and good driving record.
• Ability to supervise and train residents and coordinate activities.
• Strong reading and writing skills; computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Create a congenial, home-like atmosphere within the community residence.
• Promote maximum independence for each resident.
• Facilitate community activities and transportation as needed.
• Supervise meals and prepare nutritious meals per menu.
• Assist residents with communication with families.
• Maintain client records and HIPAA compliance.
• Report incidents to supervisor and follow the chain of command.
• Provide medication assistance and storage and remind residents to take meds.
• Ensure privacy and rights of residents.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

College or vocational/technical training that equals at least 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours or 720 classroom hours
