General Purpose of the Job

Resident Care Specialist provides consistent, in-person support within Genesis Home to help foster a secure, calm, and caring residential setting for women participating in services. Scheduled primarily during weekday evenings and/or weekend daytime hours, this role helps ensure staff presence on site to monitor the home environment, respond to urgent situations, assist with conflict intervention, and support programming that strengthens residents’ emotional health, social connection, recreation, and spiritual development.

This position is designed to help sustain a respectful and stable household culture by reinforcing expectations, encouraging healthy interaction, and offering trauma-informed support that contributes to resident safety, well-being, and community life.

Hours & Schedule of Operation
  • Saturday - Sunday, 10AM - 6PM
  • Monday - Friday, 6PM to 10PM
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a commitment to serving women with histories of human trafficking through a trauma-informed and compassionate approach.
  • Provide staff coverage and active in-home support during assigned evening and weekend shifts.
  • Help uphold a safe, orderly, and supportive residential atmosphere consistent with program guidelines and house expectations.
  • Act as the primary on-site staff contact for resident questions, concerns, urgent issues, and unexpected situations during scheduled hours.
  • Take appropriate action in emergencies, including notifying leadership, contacting emergency responders, or reaching out to other designated supports as needed.
  • Apply trauma-informed de-escalation techniques when addressing conflict, emotional distress, behavioral concerns, or crisis situations.
  • Observe resident dynamics and step in supportively when needed to encourage respectful and healthy community interactions.
  • Lead, coordinate, or support activities that contribute to recreation, emotional wellness, relationship building, and spiritual encouragement.
  • Promote resident involvement in meaningful evening and weekend engagement opportunities that support growth and connection.
  • Record incidents, concerns, and significant events in a timely manner and communicate relevant information to leadership or the Care Team.
  • Maintain professionalism, sound judgment, appropriate boundaries, and confidentiality in all interactions.
  • Partner with other program staff to communicate trends, concerns, and after-hours developments that may affect resident care.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor.

  • Ability to set appropriate limits, use sound judgment, and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to organize, self-direct, and facilitate group activities.
  • Possess strong work ethics.
  • Ability to empathize and practice trauma-informed care with those who have experienced various levels of trauma.
  • Successfully pass a FDLE Level II background screening.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license, ability to drive, and reliable transportation.

  • A high level of openness and willingness to receive feedback/suggestions from superiors and others, and to learn new skills to improve job performance.

  • Remain free from any substances that affect my ability and capacity to perform my duties.
  • Recognize personal issues, behaviors, or conditions that may impact my performance as a NCPRSS.
  • Maintain regular supervision and ongoing support so I have a person with whom I can address challenging personal issues, behaviors, or conditions that may negatively effect my own recovery. I understand that misconduct may result in the suspension of my credentials.
Education & Experience
  1. High School diploma or GED required.
  2. Previous experience in an anti-trafficking related field preferred.
  3. Willingness to travel/drive regularly. Have a valid Driver's License and vehicle insurance.
