Job summary

Northern Pines Assisted Living is seeking a caregiver to provide compassionate assistance to residents, including bathing, grooming, toileting, mobility support, and medication administration under physician orders.

The role involves dining/kitchen tasks, housekeeping, and participation in activities, with a focus on dignity, respect, and individualized care plans. Strong communication is essential; CNA not required, training provided.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with and caring for the elderly population preferred.
  • CNA certification not necessary.
  • Strong written and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assists residents with bathing, hair care, mouth care, dressing, toileting, etcetera.
  • Assists residents with ambulation and transfer reminders and support.
  • Assists with turning and repositioning as needed.
  • Observes and reports resident behavior and condition changes to supervisor.
  • Encourages resident participation in facility activities.
  • Assists with kitchen and dining tasks related to resident meals, including prep, serving, and cleanup.
  • Performs general housekeeping and laundry tasks.
  • Reviews medication records daily.
  • Administers prescribed medications as ordered.
  • Attends staff meetings and in-services.
  • Adheres to attendance policy.
  • Displays a caring, respectful attitude toward residents, families, and co-workers.

Ensure residents are treated with dignity and respect and receive quality care according to individualized care plans.

  • Responsible for reviewing medication records on a daily basis.
  • Administers prescribed medications as ordered.
  • Attends scheduled staff meetings and in-services.
  • Compliant with attendance policy.
  • Displays a caring, respectful attitude when addressing residents, family members and co-workers.
Qualifications/General Requirements
  • Experience working with and caring for the elderly population preferred.
  • CNA certification not necessary.
  • Strong written and communication skills.
  • Position reports to Resident Care Director or Administrator.
  • Must be able to participate in one and two-person transfers/lifts and change resident position to accommodate resident mobility needs.
  • Must be able to administer medications and perform medical treatments as ordered by physician.
