Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Columbia, SC, is seeking an experienced registered nurse or licensed practical nurse to lead the resident care department. You will evaluate residents pre-move-in, develop and adjust care plans, and supervise staff, including medication management and infection prevention.

You will collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other stakeholders to ensure safe, high-quality care. The role requires supervisory experience, CPR certification, and ability to lift up to 50

Qualifications

• Current valid and unencumbered RN or LPN license in accordance with State regulations.
• Has completed state-required nursing training courses for assisted living practice.
• Must be able to think critically and apply nursing process principles.
• 1-2 years’ experience required; 3+ years preferred.
• Supervisory/management experience strongly preferred.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates residents prior to move-in to ensure care needs can be met.
• Develops a resident-specific service plan and revises as needed.
• Reviews resident plans with an interdisciplinary team for safety and satisfaction.
• Collaborates with physicians, pharmacists, and healthcare team for coordinated care.
• Oversees the community’s medication management program and ensures compliance with regulations.
• Supervises medication technicians and AMAP, conducts training and competency checks.
• Supervises CNAs and provides ongoing training as needed.
• Maintains knowledge of regulations and ensures survey readiness.
• Acts as infection preventionist and oversees infection control activities.
• Monitors care quality indicators and discusses trends in regular meetings.
• Builds and develops the resident care team and leads training and coaching.
• Collaborates with Executive Director on budgeting for resident care and with Sales/Marketing on external opportunities.
