Job summary

Jaybird Senior Living in Marshalltown, IA is seeking a Resident Assistant to provide personal care and support to residents under the guidance of the Healthcare Coordinator. This role includes monitoring vital signs, assisting with daily living activities and adhering to individualized care plans.

Certification as a Nurse's Aide is preferred but not required; CPR within 90 days is expected. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, compassionate care and strong resident

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Minimum six months caregiving experience, preferably with elderly residents.
• Completion of required medication management course.
• CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• Professionalism and ability to handle emotionally charged situations.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record vital signs; report deviations to supervising nurse per ISP.
• Assist residents with personal care including bathing, grooming, dressing and more.
• Follow ISPs and daily task sheets; communicate resident status to supervisors.
• Utilize infection control procedures and maintain safe environments.
• Encourage resident engagement in activities; document progress timely.
• Uphold HIPAA confidentiality and adhere to all policies.
• Attend biweekly in-service meetings and trainings.
