Job summary

OPCO Skilled Management is seeking a compassionate nursing assistant to support floor nursing staff with daily resident care and logistical tasks. You will help with bed making, meal distribution, linen handling, and call-light response, while upholding resident dignity and safety.

Under supervision of a licensed nurse, you will provide 1:1 resident support, help prepare rooms for new residents, and assist with transfers or discharge. A caring, detail-oriented approach is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists nursing staff with beds, meals, passing ice and water, linens, answering call lights, and non hands-on care as requested.
• Assists with decorating bulletin boards; delivers mail/newspapers to resident rooms and reads mail to visually impaired residents as needed.
• Cleans and organizes equipment and furniture; changes batteries on lifts; makes and cleans unoccupied beds following protocols.
• Provides 1:1 with residents under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Prepares resident rooms for arrival (bed made, name tags, admission kit) and tracks personal possessions.
• Assists residents with packing possessions during transfers or discharge.
• Checks residents to ensure personal care needs are met.
• Assists with lifting, positioning, and transporting residents safely and accompanies to appointments and activities.
