Job summary

Freeman Regional Health Services is seeking a Residential Nursing Assistant to join our team in Freeman, SD. This PRN role offers day, evening, and night shifts with rotating weekends and holidays, and the chance to build meaningful relationships with elderly residents.

You will assist with daily activities, monitor health and safety, and help maintain a supportive, infection-controlled living environment. PTO from day one, retirement matching, and mentorship opportunities accompany the role.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years or older.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech.
• Visual acuity adequate to perform duties.
• Willingness to follow safety and infection control procedures.
• Reliable and compassionate care for residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily activities, providing physical and emotional support.
• Develop close relationships with residents and families, learning needs and preferences.
• Provide companionship and reduce loneliness and isolation.
• Monitor health and safety, identify hazards and ensure quick access to help.
• Maintain cleanliness in residents’ living spaces.
• Notify nurses or supervisors about changes in residents' conditions.
• Maintain accurate records of residents' information.
• Follow policies on fire, tornado, evacuation, disaster plan, infection control, and hazardous materials.
• Mentor new employees and assist with orientation.
• Model Freeman CARE standards in daily work.
