Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a compassionate Resident Assistant/Personal Care Aide to provide quality care and assist residents with daily living activities in our Mechanicsburg community.

Responsibilities include reporting incidents, assisting with daily activities, housekeeping, responding to calls, and aiding in activities and transitions. CPR/First Aid certification is required or obtainable within 60 days. Evening and weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
• Must be a contributing member of the nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor.
• Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or willing to obtain within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Reports incidents involving residents to include care concerns or issues to appropriate individuals (ex: HCD, RN/LPN, or ED).
• Assists residents with activities of daily living.
• Performs housekeeping duties such as making beds and cleaning resident apartments, common areas, and dining room as directed by supervisor.
• Responds promptly to all resident calls for assistance or emergency alerts.
• Remains calm and competent during emergencies.
• Assists in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Follows confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information.
• Assists residents to and from dining room and activities.
• Checks on residents, ensures attendance at meals and activities.
• Reports status or concerns for residents who are ill to appropriate individuals.
• Communicates verbally and in writing to report resident status, upcoming information, appointments, admissions, and transfers.
• Assists new residents with move-in transition and provides emotional support.
