Resident Assistant (RA's) for Assisted Living

The Resident Assistant (RA) is responsible for providing direct care to residents, assisting the clinical team with activities of daily living, and working under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This role involves reporting resident needs and concerns to a licensed nurse and following facility policies and procedures.

Responsibilities and Major Duties:

• Document all resident-related activities accurately and timely in accordance with facility policy.
• Notify licensed nurses promptly about changes in resident conditions, such as weight loss or skin condition changes.
• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including feeding, bathing, dressing, transferring, ambulation, personal hygiene, and toileting.
• Obtain labs and vitals as directed by a licensed nurse.
• Follow infection control and safety procedures.
• Participate in staff meetings, educational sessions, and other employment-related meetings.
• Support resident activities to create a home-like environment.
• Comply with HIPAA regulations and residents’ rights policies.
• Engage respectfully with visitors, guests, and family members.
• Maintain a safe, sanitary living environment for residents.
• Adhere to all infection control policies and facility procedures.
• Perform additional duties as directed by the Director of Nursing or authorized personnel.

Position Qualifications:

Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English in both written and verbal forms. Effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills are required. Successful completion of all background checks, including Ohio BCI&I fingerprint analysis, FBI fingerprint analysis (if applicable), Nurse Aide Registry, and exclusion lists, is mandatory.
