Resident Assistant Job Description

Job Title: Resident Assistant

Reports to: Director of Nursing

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary

As a Resident Assistant, you will support residents with activities of daily living, promoting independence and respecting privacy, while supporting their overall well-being.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with bathing, medication reminders, dressing, and other needs
  • Escort residents to dining and activities
  • Respond promptly to emergency calls
  • Report changes in residents to management
  • Deliver meal trays upon request
  • Assist with housekeeping and laundry duties
  • Help with meal service and cleanup
  • Participate in cross-training for various duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred CNA and First Aid certification
  • 0-2 years of experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to organize work and respond to instructions
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work well with staff, residents, and visitors
  • High level of customer service
Physical Demands

Must be able to handle activities like sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs, and seeing clearly at various distances. Reasonable accommodations can be provided for disabilities.

Additional Information

Travel is not required. Salary ranges from $15 to $17 per hour. This is a full-time, entry-level position in the healthcare industry.
