Job summary

The Birches Assisted Living in Clarendon Hills, IL is seeking a dedicated Resident Assistant for a full‑time night shift (11 PM–7 AM) with weekend rotation. The role focuses on compassionate daily living support and building meaningful resident relationships.

Candidates should be able to lift 50 lbs and be comfortable wearing PPE. CNA certification is preferred but not required; HS diploma required. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities available.

Responsibilities

• Provide scheduled and unscheduled assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, dressing, mobility, etc.).
• Assist residents with meals and dining room activities as assigned.
• Support residents’ wellbeing and participate in daily programs and meaningful activities.

As a Resident Assistant you will be at the center of what we do best, caring for the residents with passion and dedication and building meaningful relationships to add values to their lives as you provide scheduled and unscheduled assistance to residents with activities of daily living— all according to departmental and company policy and procedure statements and following individual plans for service. The Resident Assistant (“R.A.”) will also assist with and participate in meaningful programs and activities as assigned and may assist with lunch in the main dining room, as assigned.

• Provide services as scheduled for assigned residents. Such services may include helping with activities of daily living (bathing, oral care, grooming, clothing selection, dressing, undressing and changing, toileting, transferring, escorts, laundry, etc.).

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift minimum 50 lbs.
• Must be able to safely wear required PPE including respirator unless you received approved exemption through company policy

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

• Education: High School Graduate as a minimum.
• Certification as a nursing assistant (Certified Nursing Assistant) preferred but not required. Experience working with older adults preferred, and passion to support older adults required. On the job training provided.

Hiring PAY RANGE based on EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum to Maximum: $16.00/hour- $18.50/hour
