Job summary

Jacksonville State University, housing operations and residence life, seeks Resident Assistants to support a living-learning environment in our residence halls. RAs serve as liaisons, participate in on-call rotations, and assist with educational and safety initiatives.

Responsibilities include student support, program planning, policy education, and crisis response, with shift work during evenings and weekends. Applicants must be JSU students and maintain eligibility through continued enrollment.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be enrolled as a JSU student taking at least three (3) hours per fall or spring semester.
• GPA of 2.5 or higher is preferred for non-first-time students.

Responsibilities

• Meet residents and support their academic needs.
• Create a conducive study atmosphere in residential facilities.
• Plan educational programs and facilitate faculty involvement.
• Respond to behavior to maintain a positive living environment.
• Enforce policies and ensure safety and security in residences.
