Job summary

Great Lakes Management Company in Bloomington is seeking a Resident Assistant to provide hands-on care and support in a long-term care setting. You will assist with ADLs, support residents emotionally, and participate in activities while communicating changes to the case manager.

The role requires 6 months of LTC or assisted living experience, CNA/HHA registration preferred, and a demonstrated ability to act in residents' best interests.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience in long-term care or assisted living preferred.
• Registered Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) preferred.
• Ability to make responsible choices and act in the resident's best interests.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with ADLs as indicated in the service agreement.
• Help residents achieve and maintain the highest possible level of independence.
• Provide physical and emotional support to residents.
• Assist with treatments as delegated by the RN per service agreement.
• Observe residents and report changes in condition to the case manager.
• Interact with residents to provide reassurance, engagement, and redirection.

Resident Assistant Job Objective(s):

The Resident Assistant is responsible for providing hands-on care, both physical and emotional, as outlined in each resident's service agreement. R esponsible for effectively communicating with residents, families, and notifying the case manager of any changes in condition or concerns. The Resident Assistant assist s in the dining room and participating in activities and outings.

Resident Assistant Job Responsibilities:

• Assist residents with ADL's (Activities of Daily Living) as indicated on the individualized service agreement
• Help each resident to reach and maintain the highest level of performance and independence.
• Provide residents with both physical and emotional support.
• Assist with treatments as delegated by the Registered Nurse per the resident service agreement
• The Resident Assistant observes clients and reports changes in physical and emotional condition such as change in attitude, loss of appetite, weight, etc. to the case manager.
• Interactwith residents to provide reassurance, engagement, and redirection as appropriate.
• Complete all required documentation daily, service schedule, flow sheet, communication book, etc.

Qualifications:

• Six months of experience in long term care or assisted living residence (Preferred)
• Registered as a Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aid or Certified Nursing Assistant (Preferred)
• Ability to make responsible choices and decisions and act in the resident's best interests.
