Responsibilities
  1. Provide quality care and assistance to residents in accordance with the residence philosophy, policies, and resident rights.
  2. Assist residents in meeting their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
  3. Adhere to each resident's individual service plan, notify the Resident Services Director and Wellness Nurse of any changes in the resident's condition.
  4. Answer and respond immediately to resident calls.
  5. Assist residents with activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living.
  6. Check on residents every two hours, document, and report findings.
  7. Assist with resident activities, encourage participation.
  8. Encourage residents to attend meals, escort them, assist with serving and eating, and observe/report changes in appetite or physical abilities.
  9. Assist with cleaning the dining room after meals.
  10. Help tidy residents' rooms and assist with personal laundry as needed.
  11. Establish and maintain good relationships with residents and families.
  12. Dispose of incontinent products per OSHA regulations and policies.
  13. Practice proper body mechanics and follow safety guidelines.
  14. Respond to resident emergencies according to policies.
  15. Promote dignity, independence, and resident rights.
  16. Carry out duties assigned by supervisor.
Communications
  1. Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
  2. Communicate resident information appropriately to team members.
  3. Notify supervisor or nurse of changes in resident condition.
  4. Respond to on-the-job injuries per policies.
  5. Notify supervisors of concerns from residents' families.
