Join Our Team as a Full Time Resident Assistant!

As a caregiver at Mennonite village, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents through compassionate care and professionalism. Responsibilities include assisting residents with activities of daily living (ADL), monitoring their health status, maintaining accurate documentation, promoting participation in activities, and ensuring safety during care procedures.

What We're Looking For:

  • Must have Heimlich Maneuver training.
  • Understanding of and commitment to residents rights and dignity.
  • First aid certification and Food handler's card within first 120 days of employment.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Compassionate bedside manner and empathy toward residents
  • Ability to accurately document activities in writing.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Be knowledgeable and adhere to a resident's service plans.
  • Provide hygiene and general care of resident's skin, nails, hair, eyes, ears, mouth, and face.
  • Assist resident in performing activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Assists with dressing, bathing, toileting, and grooming as needed.
  • Responds to call lights promptly and ensures that call light is within resident's reach.
  • Respond in a timely manner to residents wearing safety devices.
  • Assist with preparation, serving, set-up, clean-up and feeding meals or snacks to residents.
  • Monitor health status of residents and report changes to Team Leader or nurse.
  • Offer emotional support and validation for residents.
  • Encourages and promotes resident participation in activities.
  • Engage with residents by involving them in basic tasks to redirect and manage behaviors.

  • Starting pay between $16.00 - $18.01 per hour plus a $1 shift differential for hours worked between 10pm - 6am. and $1 shift differential for hours worked on the weekends.
