Resident Assistant Job Details:

  • Hours - 2p-10p
  • Pay Range - $17-$24

Job Objective(s):

The Resident Assistant is responsible for providing hands-on care, both physical and emotional, as outlined in each resident's service agreement. They are responsible for effectively communicating with residents, families, and notifying the case manager of any changes in condition or concerns. The Resident Assistant also assists in the dining room and participates in activities and outings.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents with ADL's (Activities of Daily Living) as indicated on the individualized service agreement
  • Help each resident to reach and maintain the highest level of performance and independence.
  • Provide residents with both physical and emotional support.
  • Assist with treatments as delegated by the Registered Nurse per the resident service agreement
  • Observe clients and report changes in physical and emotional condition such as change in attitude, loss of appetite, weight, etc. to the case manager.
  • Interact with residents to provide reassurance, engagement, and redirection as appropriate.
  • Complete all required documentation daily, including service schedules, flow sheets, and communication books.

Qualifications:

  • Six months of experience in long-term care or assisted living residence (Preferred)
  • Registered as a Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aide, or Certified Nursing Assistant (Preferred)
  • Ability to make responsible choices and decisions and act in the resident's best interests.
