Job description

JOB FUNCTION:

Under the supervision of a Team Leader, the Resident Assistant assists residents who need 24-hour supervision and minimal care. The role involves helping residents complete activities of daily living, promoting independence and freedom of choice. The position is responsible for delivering quality service, maintaining good public relations, and upholding the mission and standards of the facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Hold all 4 Wisconsin CBRF certificates: First Aid and Choking, Fire Safety, Medication Administration, and Standard Precautions. (Certification can be obtained through the facility)
  2. Pass medications correctly according to the Director of Nursing (DON), staying within scope of practice.
  3. Assist residents with laundry as assigned, providing help or supervision as needed.
  4. Assist or prompt residents to complete cleaning tasks as assigned with help or supervision as needed.
  5. Engage residents in activities within the facility as scheduled, considering their wants, desires, and rights.
  6. Ensure the safety and security of all residents at all times.
  7. Assist residents in attending scheduled appointments with support and supervision.
  8. Collaborate with other staff members to ensure residents' success and happiness.
  9. Encourage residents to voice concerns and refer them to therapists if needed.
