Ecumen Brooks in Owatonna, MN is seeking a Resident Assistant (Caregiver/CNA) to provide personal care and delegated health-related services, following each resident's schedule and accurately documenting care.

The role supports morning and evening routines, medication administration as delegated by RN, and collaborations with an attentive care team in a memory care-equipped community. Flexible, casual and on-call shifts are available with weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• Must be 17 years of age or older.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written.
• Ability to follow safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily activities like dressing, bathing, grooming, eating, toileting, mobility, and transferring.
• Provide morning and evening care, including oral hygiene and incontinence care.
• Help with use of assistive devices such as glasses and hearing aids.
• Administer medications and treatments as delegated by the RN or Clinical Director.
• Observe and report changes in residents' physical, emotional, or cognitive condition.
• Encourage resident independence by offering choices and promoting self-care.
• Collaborate with team members in a flexible, fast-paced environment.
• Complete light cleaning tasks and support resident activities.
• Respond promptly to safety hazards, call lights, and team needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Resident Assistant (Caregiver, Nursing Assistant, CNA) is responsible for providing personal care and delegated health-related services designed to maintain the resident's physical and emotional well-being. This position is responsible for following the service schedule for each resident and correctly documents services provided.

Schedule Options

• Casual / On-Call
• Flexible schedule; position picks up hours as they are available based on the community's needs
• Shifts -
  • AMs - 6:30am-2:45pm
  • PMs - 2:30pm-10:45pm
  • NOCs - 10:30pm-6:45am
• Position requirements -
  • work a minimum of four shifts per month; two of the shifts must be on a weekend
  • work two holidays per year

Pay

• The targeted pay range for this job is $18.00 - $21.00 per hour. Ecumen considers a variety of factors when determining new hire pay including experience, qualifications, and, when applicable, certifications, licenses, and education.

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Previous experience with working with seniors
• Certified Nursing Assistant CNA and/or Home Health Aide
