Job description

Resident Assistant Position:

Residents Assistants are an essential part of our wellness team by providing basic personal assistance to the residents in maintaining their highest level of functional independence and psychosocial wellness under the supervision of an RN or LPN.

Resident Assistant Requirements:

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with residents and staff
• Ability to lift, pull, push, carry 40 pounds and move quickly within the community to provide emergency assistance
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and co-workers; transport patients and equipment as needed
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum age of 18 years
• Pass pre-employment background check, drug screen, TB test, and physical

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

• Experience working with seniors
• CNA certification
• Experience in assisted living or memory care

Resident Assistant Responsibilities:

• Providing companionship, building rapport, and establishing trust with residents
• Assisting with activities of daily living, including ambulation, transferring, showering, personal hygiene, incontinence care, feeding, reminders, and supervision
• Organizing and assisting in activities, both group and individual
• Performing daily tasks safely and following safety procedures
• Serving meals and handling post-meal cleanup
• Ensuring resident rooms are clean and tidy; managing resident laundry as assigned
• Observing residents and reporting concerns such as skin issues, behavioral or speech changes, or appearance changes to the Wellness Director
• Following safety regulations including fire safety, infection control, and hazardous waste management
• Communicating professionally with family, visitors, and volunteers
• Reporting changes in residents' psychosocial and physical conditions
• Reporting complaints, grievances, and abuse incidents
• Responding promptly to emergency calls
• Providing post-mortem care as instructed
• Completing documentation and paperwork accurately
• Participating in wellness meetings and mandatory training
• Adhering to the company's mission, philosophy, policies, and procedures
• Performing tasks as assigned by the Wellness Director and leadership team
