Base pay range

$17.00/hr - $17.00/hr

Cedarhurst, a regional healthcare provider and true friend of older adults, seeks a service-minded, career-oriented individual to join our team as a Resident Assistant at our Cedarhurst of Yorkville community.

As a Resident Assistant, you will assist and provide direction to residents with personal care needs which enable the resident to maintain good personal hygiene, carry out activities of daily living, maintain good health, and participate in community activities.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Assisting residents with personal care needs such as grooming, hygiene, dressing, and nutrition.
  2. Responding to signal lights, bells, or intercom to determine residents' needs proactively.
  3. Monitoring vital signs and food and fluid intake/output as directed.
  4. Transporting residents and assisting with walking, turning, or repositioning.
  5. Changing bed linens, running errands, and managing communication with visitors and staff.
  6. Assisting with laundry, housekeeping, and meal services.
  7. Encouraging residents to participate in activities and supporting their wellbeing.
  8. Reporting observations and understanding residents' Advance Directives.
  9. Communicating effectively with residents' families about their care.
  10. Working collaboratively with team members and managing conflicts appropriately.
  11. Performing physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds independently and up to 200 pounds with assistance.
  12. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One year of experience as a resident assistant preferred.
  • Proficiency in Internet browsers, Microsoft Office, EHR systems, and HR systems if applicable.
