ISBVI is one of the largest schools for the blind and visually impaired in the country, serving a diverse student population. Its vision is to provide meaningful opportunities for students, educators, and families to access resources, serving as a center of educational excellence, research, and training to improve educational experiences for children who are blind or have low vision.
Role Overview:
The Resident Assistant supports staff by supervising and guiding students during after-school and evening hours. Responsibilities include supervising students in dormitories, recreational, dining facilities, and events under the supervision of the residential leader.

Salary:
The position starts at an annual salary of $34,216 ($17.54/hr). Salary may vary based on education and experience. This is a 9-month position, with pay spread over 12 months, and potential overtime during staff absences. Use our Compensation Calculator to view the total package.
A Day in the Life:Responsibilities include supervising students, maintaining safety and cleanliness, preparing materials, supporting activities, enforcing discipline, ensuring student hygiene and safety, assisting with student development, following emergency procedures, promoting student growth across various dimensions, and coordinating programs and activities.
