Emergency Family Shelter

We have created two new openings for On-Call Resident Assistants for our Emergency Family Shelter, due to rising community needs. Shifts include afternoons, evenings, overnights, and weekends. Applicants should be willing to commit to at least two shifts per month to maintain their on-call status.

Position Overview

As a Resident Assistant, you will supervise residents, manage the program, and ensure a safe environment. Responsibilities include coaching residents on policies, assisting with basic needs, conflict resolution, crisis intervention, and supportive counseling.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise residents, enforce policies, and provide conflict resolution and support.
  • Assist residents with basic needs and orientation.
  • Promote activities and support residents' goal plans.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reports.
  • Complete shift-specific support services and communicate shift updates.
  • Attend mandatory meetings and maintain certifications.
  • Demonstrate cultural competence and align with organizational goals.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Up to two years of experience in human services or related fields.
  • Preferred: associate degree with one year of experience, experience with homelessness, knowledge of local social resources, office skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
